On June 22, 2013, the Maritime Committee of Guangdong Lawyers Association (hereinafter referred to as “Maritime Committee”) convened the first plenum in Guangzhou. Director (of the Maritime Committee) Colin Y F Yang from our law firm held this plenum. Deputy-director (of the Maritime Committee) Judy C Z Lin and Deputy-director Ren Yanbing (Secretary general of the Maritime Committee) from our law firm attended this plenum.
Vice-chairman Chen Xikang and Vice-supervisor Wang Tengfeng of Guangdong Lawyers Association attended the plenum.
In the plenum, Vice-chairman Chen Xikang and Vice-supervisor Wang Tengfeng presented the certificates of appointment to the director, Deputy-director and Secretary general of the Maritime Committee. Director Colin Y F Yang introduced the working program of 2013-2016 and the working schedule of 2013 in detail, he also made a specific assignment of work duty in accordance with the specialty of each committee member. The members carried a heated discussion about the working schedule of 2013, and raised some targeted and constructional suggestions. They made a reasonable amendment to the working schedule and planned to submit to the Guangdong Lawyers Association after the plenum.
Vice-chairman Chen Xikang pointed out that since our province possessed rich marine resource and maritime lawyers, the Maritime Committee should operated actively with satisfying effects and improved the social reputation of the maritime lawyers of our province.
Finally, Vice-supervisor Wang Tengfeng delivered the supervising advices.
