Mr. Zhao has been engaged in marine supervision, maritime affairs and claim service for more than 30 years and possesses profound theoretical foundation and rich experience. For years, he has taken charge of and handled over 400 accidents of sea damage, among which there are more than 10 major accidents of ship’s collision. Mr. Zhao is proficient in the manoeuvre and management of seagoing vessels and marine transportation service and specializes at handling ship’s accidents like ship’s collision, running aground, fire disaster, oil pollution, engine failure and cargo damage, etc. Mr. Zhao has published more than 20 papers on domestic relevant academic journals.
Mr. Zhao served as Marine Superintendent of Supervision Office of Guangzhou Shipping Management Bureau of Ministry of Communications from 1977 to 1984; served as 3/O and 2/O on vessels “DA QING247” and “CHANG BAI SHAN” from 1985 to 1988; served as Marine Service Engineer of Marine Supervision Office of Guangzhou Maritime Transport (Group) Co., Ltd from 1989 to 1993; served as Deputy Section Chief and Marine Service Senior Engineer of Navigation Supervision Division of Guang Hai Xing Hua Shipping Co., Ltd from 1994 to 1997; served as Section Chief and Marine Senior Engineer of Marine Service Division of Ocean Shipping Department of China Shipping Bulk Carrier Co., Ltd in 1998; served as Section Chief and Marine Senior Engineer of Maritime Division of Marine Service Department of China Shipping Bulk Carrier Co., Ltd from 1999 to 2001; served as Section Chief and Marine Senior Engineer of Claim Division of Shipping Department of China Shipping Bulk Carrier Co., Ltd from 2002 to 2012; retired from China Shipping Bulk Carrier Co., Ltd in Sep. 2012; served as Senior Maritime Expert of Yang & Lin Co. Law Firm on 8 October 2012.
