In the afternoon of 24 December 2015, the second stop of lecture on law about “Publicity Month of Governing the Enterprises Based on the Laws” of China Ocean Shipping(Group) Company was held successfully. It was jointly organized by COSCO Shipping Co., Ltd and COSCO Container Lines Co., Ltd. Employees from COSCO Shipping Co., Ltd and COSCO Container Lines Co., Ltd respectively attended the lecture in Guangzhou and Shanghai. The relevant units subordinated to China Ocean Shipping(Group) Company attended the lecture by means of video.
Director Colin Y F Yang was invited to give a lecture about “Discussions on Several Issues on Risk Prevention of Arrest of Ships for Shipping Companies”. Colin Y F Yang discussed it from six aspects, including the case of MV HAINA arrested by Korea in 2013, the features of arrest of ships in China and Singapore, how to avoid arrest in South Africa due to the associated ship provisions, what the Group should do to avoid arrest of ships for its subordinated companies, the measures when facing the threat of arrest of ships and the counterclaims for the mistaken arrest of ships.
