On 23 and 24 March 2018, Guangdong Lawyers Association held the 2017 Committee Work Report Meeting and Training for Chairs, Vice Chairs and General Secretaries, and elected excellent committees and chairs. After speeches addressed by the candidates, over 300 leaders of the association, and chairs, vice chairs and general secretaries of various committees of the association participated in the vote. Mr. Yang was honored to be elected as the Excellent Committee Chair of 2017. Maritime Logistics Legal Committee led by Mr. Yang was elected to be the Excellent Committee of 2017. Guangdong Lawyers Association has 27 professional committees, 9 committees and 9 chairs from which were elected to be Excellent. Mr. Yang and Maritime Logistics Legal Committee came out No.3 in the rankings respectively.

Since 2013, Mr. Yang has been holding the chair of the Maritime Logistics Legal Committee of Guangdong Lawyers Association. Mr. Yang is also the vice chair of the Admiralty and Maritime Law Committee of All China Lawyers Association since 2014.
