In 10 May 2018, the seminar of development trend of shipping industry in 2018 hosted by Fujian Shipowners Association and undertook by China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co. Ltd. Fujian Branch and Tangshan Weide Marine Equipement Co., Ltd was successfully held in Quanzhou, Fujian. More than 80 participants from Fujian Shipowners Association, China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co. Ltd, the People’s Insurance Company (Group) of China Ltd, Donghai Marine Insurance Company Ltd, ship companies, agency companies and survey companies within Fujian Provonce attended the seminar.

As the permanent legal advisor of Fujian Shipowners Association, Director Yang Yunfu from our law firm has made a lecture in topic of Brief Introduction to case San Chi, Amendment to the Maritime Code and relationship with the shipowner. In 6 January 2018, a serious collision accident involving MV “San Chi” and MV “CF Crystal” at waters of 160 seamiles to the east of Yangtze Estuary, which attracted broad attention in shipping industry both home and abroad. As the lawyer dealing in this case, Director Yang combined the current exposable information on his hand and made analysis to relevant issues. He also analyzed the relation between amendment to the maritime code and the shipowner in details. And called on shipowners and the society to pay more attention to the amendment to the maritime code and to offer their valuable opinion.

Director Yang’s speech was highly praised by all the attendees.

25 to 27 April 2018, China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co. Ltd (hereinafter referred to as CPIC) held a seminar of promoting thorough claims against cargo transportation insurances (southern area) at Fuzhou. Vice general manager of non-vehicle claim department of CPIC Zhuang Yue, Senior Manager Zeng Qiongmei, Senior claim handler Li Congrong and 40 personnel from branches of Fujian, Guangdong, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Dongguan, Guangxi, Hainan, Yunnan, Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan, Chongqing and the shipping center attended the seminar.

At the invitation of non-vehicle claim department of CPIC, Director Yang gave a lecture of Analysis to Several Questions to the Recovery of Cargo Transportation Insurances in the morning of 26 April. Combining the successful cases handled by Yang & Lin Co Law Firm, Director Yang made a detailed analyze to the recovery of insurances against cargo transported by waterway and railway, and also made analysis to the relations among amendment to the Maritime Code and cargo transportation insurance and the hull insurance. On the lecture Director Yang answered more than 10 questions raised by attendees. Director Colin Y F Yang gave the lecture vividly. And he was highly appraised by all the leaders attended.
